Fruit And Vegetable Shopping In A Mexican Mercado!
The farmer's markets may not offer high-quality bell peppers, summer squash, and cucumbers yet, but they are numerous, crisp, and fresh at the grocery store and were probably imported from Mexico. Check out this video to see some authentic Mexican farmers markets here.
Many people are unaware that Mexico exports much more than simply the typical ingredients for Mexican meals, such as chiles, avocados, tomatoes, limes, and tomatoes. From our warm and sunny neighbor to the south, we may also frequently find bell peppers in a variety of hues, summer squash in a wide range of kinds, and different sorts of cucumbers.
For over a century, Mexico has been sending premium product to the United States. Before it enters the United States, all product from Mexico must pass rigorous quality and safety inspections, so you can be sure it is both safe and recent. It's also healthy: Beta-carotene and vitamin C levels are high in red, yellow, and orange bell peppers. Cucumbers of average size have only 39 calories each. Additionally, zucchini and yellow squash are great sources of magnesium.
This month, try using these vegetables in stir-fries, salads, or sliced on sandwiches. Even red bell peppers and summer squash can be included in your salsa.
